Houston Pittman

Houston Larry Pittman, born Sept. 15, 1936, passed away peacefully at his residence with his family at his side on April 15, 2015. He was a mechanical engineer at the Gaylord Paper Mill, from where he retired, and also served in the Army Reserve. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Crawford Pittman; two daughters, Debbie (Roy) Miley and Cindy (Bruce) Smith, all of Bogalusa; two sisters, Ruth Ballard and Audrey Stafford, both of Franklinton; three grandchildren, Megan and Cody Everett and Charlie Smith; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan W. and Elulia Pittman; and two brothers, N.W. Pittman Jr. and Lavon Pittman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. The Rev. Scott Breland and the Rev. Pete Williams will conduct the services. The interment will follow in the Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery.
