Catha Anthony Williams Beard, age 66 and a resident of New Orleans, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at her residence in New Orleans.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Preston Beard of New Orleans; three sisters, Irma Tuckson, and Lonnie Mae Anthony, both of New Orleans, and Freddie Young of Franklinton; two brothers, Lester (Shirley) Anthony of Franklinton and Murphy (Patricia) Anthony of New Orleans; two sisters-in-law, Gaynell (Ronald) Tellis of Baton Rouge, and Devoeh Beard of Los Angeles,; two brothers-in-law, Phillip Beard and Jesse (Adale) Beard of New Orleans; two step-children, Raven and Melvina; seven Godchildren, Kim, Tina, Tonya, Murphy Anthony Jr., Cookies, Marks and Teara; a devoted cousin, Carolyn Anthony Pittman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Ethel Anthony; four brothers, Andrew Anthony, Leroy Hart, Willie Edward Anthony and Emanuel Anthony; and one sister, Betty Bickham.

The funeral service will be Saturday, April 18, 2015, at noon at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Franklinton, with the Rev. Johnny Johnson as pastor and the Rev. Alfred N. Young Jr. as eulogist.
