Led by their pastor, a group of nine adults from Enon Baptist Church in Chester, Va., are in town to take part in a weekend revival at Memorial Baptist Church.

The revival is Friday through Sunday. Friday and Saturday services are at 6 p.m. while Sunday’s service is at 10:30 a.m.

Memorial pastor, the Rev. Field Thigpen, and Enon pastor, the Rev. Michael Moore, preached together last year on the French island of Martinique. The Oct. 31-Nov. 7, 2014, services were broadcast throughout the Caribbean and were shown on television in France. They will preach together during the weekend revival.

Moore’s group arrived in Bogalusa Wednesday afternoon. They will depart after Sunday morning’s service.

Before the revival, the nine adults did a little community service Thursday by painting the playground equipment in Cassidy Park.

“We’re just serving the community a little bit,” Moore said. “It’s been a blessing. We saw a need and wanted to meet it.”

Along with Moore, Enon Baptist Church members who participated in the Cassidy Park’s spruce-up included Ryan Kidd, Gary Whitney, Deborah Sharp, Martha Thompson, Deanna Foreman, Annett Gilchrist, Mark Selmer and Wanda Whitney.
