Large-scale narcotics roundup nets 12

Before sunrise the morning of Feb. 27, Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal and his deputies were working on the east side of the parish to serve warrants and arrest suspected drug dealers.
Armed with warrants for 16 drug dealers, officers descended on several residences throughout the Bogalusa area. Bogalusa Mayor Wendy O’Quinn Perrette accompanied the sheriff and his deputies on the roundup.
The Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force coordinated the drug arrests and was assisted by Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives, agents from the Louisiana Division of Probation and Parole and officers from Rayburn Correctional Center.
With warrants in hand, officers sought several individuals for the sale of illegal narcotics and were able to locate and arrest six persons on the warrant list plus an additional six persons who were in possession of illegal drugs. A significant amount of drugs was seized, including marijuana, cocaine, pills and heroin. In addition, officers seized several thousand dollars of drug money, drug paraphernalia and two semi-automatic pistols.
Arrested on warrants were:
• Bobby K. Ramsey, 26, Bogalusa, charged with distribution of heroin. As of press time, Ramsey was in the Washington Parish Jail being held on a $100,000 bond.
• Michael J. Butler, 24, Bogalusa, charged with distribution of crack cocaine. As of press time, Butler was in the Washington Parish Jail being held on a $50,000 bond.
• Bobby Lavon Brock, 34, Bogalusa, charged with distribution of heroin. As of press time, Brock was in the Washington Parish Jail being held on a $100,000 bond.
• Donald Lee Deqon Vice, 19, Bogalusa, charged with distribution of heroin. As of press time, Vice was in the Washington Parish Jail being held on a $100,000 bond.
• Jennifer D. Nelson, 36, Bogalusa, charged with distribution of heroin. As of press time, Nelson was in the Washington Parish Jail being held on a $100,000 bond.
• Michael Sean Spikes, 37, Bogalusa, charged with distribution of Roxycontin. As of press time, Spikes was in the Washington Parish Jail being held on a $50,000 bond.
Arrested for possession of illegal drugs were:
• Christopher Gene Tynes, 34, Bogalusa, charged with probation violation, possession of heroin and possession of Roxycontin. Tynes is being held in the Washington Parish Jail with no bond.
• Kasey Robin Stafford, 25, Bogalusa, charged with probation violation. Stafford is being held in the Washington Parish Jail with no bond.
• Kerry Wayne Forrest, 42, Bogalusa, charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin and possession of Roxycontin with intent to distribute. Forrest is being held in the Washington Parish Jail. No bond had been set as of press time.
• Jermaine Williams, 26, Logan Thompson, 17, and Brandon Magee, 18: All three were arrested at 712 Superior Ave. in Bogalusa, and each is charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of Roxycontin and possession of a firearm with controlled dangerous substances present. No bond had been set as of press time.
The Sheriff’s Office has warrants on the following persons who could not be located Thurday. Anyone with information on the location of any of these persons is asked to notify the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-839-3434. Those persons are:

• Frederick Ramsdell, Bogalusa, distribution of heroin
• Alvin Charles Crumedy, Bogalusa, distribution of crack cocaine
• William C. Robinson, Bogalusa, distribution of heroin
• Greg Connerly, last known address 1008 N. Royal St., Bogalusa, distribution of crack cocaine
• Johnny Crosby, last known address Louisiana Highway 10, Bogalusa, distribution of Suboxone
• Kentrell L. Williams, last known address 712 Superior Ave., Bogalusa, failure to appear, distribution of controlled dangerous substances, two failure to appear misdemeanors
• Byron Kaigler, last known address 21150 Louisiana Highway 16, Franklinton, distribution of heroin
• Jamar McGowan, last known address McGowan Town Road, Angie, distribution of crack cocaine
Seal, who worked hand-in-hand with the officers to locate the subjects and make the arrests, commented, “This was a bad day for parish drug dealers. It was a good day for the honest citizens of Washington Parish. We will continue to create more good days for our law-abiding citizens as we continue to seek out and arrest parish criminals. I have one word for our criminal element. If you want to do the crime, be prepared to do the time.”
