Mellonee Elizabeth Boughan, a resident of Bogalusa, age 90, born on April 23, 1924, in Bogalusa, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa.

Mellonee was a member of First Baptist Church in Bogalusa. She taught with the Bogalusa school system 31 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Jones of Bogalusa; one son, William Curtis Boughan of New Orleans; one brother, Ernest Russ Williams Jr. of Bogalusa; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. “Buddy” Boughan; and her parents, Ernest Russ Williams Sr. and Velma Kemp Williams.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Derrick Dantin and the Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
