Eugene Ford

Eugene Milton Ford, a resident of Baton Rouge, age 87, born on Jan. 2, 1928, in Norfield, Miss., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at Sunrise Senior Living in Baton Rouge.

He was a lifetime member and deacon of First Baptist Church. He was a former board member at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center, an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, a World War II veteran and an avid golfer.

He is survived by two daughters, Jill McDermott of Baton Rouge and Jennifer Respess of Destrahan, La.; one sister, Sue Moak of Brookhaven, Miss.; and five grandchildren, Devin Respess, Colin Respess, Rachel Respess, Erin McDermott and Katherine McDermott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ouida Magee Ford; a son, Jack Ford; and a brother, George Ford.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral services will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Entombment will follow at Sanctuary of Peace Mausoleum in Ponemah Cemetery.
