Rosemary Anglin McElveen, 89, passed away on Feb. 3, 2015, at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. She was a resident of Tangi Pines Nursing Home in Amite, where she had many friends and truly appreciated all the kindness and care shown her there, but her heart always resided in Bogalusa, where she was born and lived until recently.

She grew up on Superior Avenue, and Superior Avenue Baptist Church was an integral part of her life. She took an active role from her early years until her health made attendance impossible. Rosemary was also active in school, serving as a majorette at Bogalusa High School and later at Southeastern.

After a brief time at Southeastern, Rosemary took a job at Washington Bank. She worked in the banking industry for many years as a teller and then a loan officer. She loved interacting with people and touched the lives of many as she assisted them with their banking needs.

Rosemary was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother to two generations. Her kindness and sweet disposition will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but especially by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Grace Anglin; her sister, Dorothy Jenkins; and her beloved husband, Diaz McElveen.

Survivors include her brother, Murray Anglin and wife Nancy; her daughters, Marilyn Larmon and husband Frank, Becki Magee and April Toney and husband Scott; her son, Brad McElveen and wife Brenda; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Brown McGehee Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 12. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., with the service at 4 p.m.
