A 28-year-old Angie resident was involved in a two-car collision on Saturday, Jan. 31, in Varnado.

Ashton Spencer was driving a 2004 black BMW at approximately 12:35 p.m. when she crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Toyota driven by a 16-year old driver from Sandy Hook, Miss. The wreck occurred on Louisiana Highway 21 at Joe Miles Road near mile marker 41.

Spencer was arrested for first offense driving while intoxicated and driving left of center. She was booked into the Washington Parish Jail in Franklinton at 3:47 p.m. and released the same day after posting bond.

The 16-year-old was transported by Northshore EMS to Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

Louisiana State Police investigated the accident.
