Mr. Jewel “Mookie” Bridges, age 78, of Union Avenue in Bogalusa departed this life on Jan. 29, 2015, at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at the funeral home at 1 p.m., with Bishop Howard Quillens officiating. Interment will follow in the Bogalusa Cemetery.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Mae Anna Bridges; his brother, Mr. Bufford Bridges; cousins reared as sisters and brothers, Mary Stewart of Bogalusa, Hilda KIlbourne of Bogalusa, Frankie Lee Burrell of Bogalusa and Jim Guynes of Bogalusa; a faithful cousin, Don Guynes, on whom he depended for many chores, of Bogalusa; and his extended family, Domino friends and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nora Thomas and Webb Bridges; a brother, L.J. Brown; and his aunt that reared him, Mrs. Willie Mae Jackson.
