The Bogalusa Main Street Program presented a check for $200 to the Bogalusa High School JROTC program on Wednesday in appreciation for their volunteer work during the Nov. 29 “Tis The Season Street Stroll.”

Main Street Program Manager Robin Day presented the donation to cadet David Duong.

Other city officials in attendance were City Council members Malinda White and Gloria Kates.

Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette could not attend the meeting but issued a statement regarding the donation:

“I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the Bogalusa High School JROTC for their volunteerism with Bogalusa’s Main Street Program, ‘Tis the Season Stroll,’” the statement read. “Main Street Manager Robin Day and her volunteer board have expressed their extreme satisfaction and gratitude for the hard work of these young men and women. As mayor, I would like to encourage the volunteer efforts of the JROTC program, as well as any other youth programs that understand the importance of volunteering. With their help we will bring back the magic to our city.”
