On Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, Vincent Fitzgerald “Poochie” Robinson’s Heavenly Father needed a grand guitar player to fulfill His Heavenly Choir’s string section. Vincent completed his earthly journey, to enter into a rest from pain and illness. Vincent was born Jan. 15, 1966, in Bogalusa.

Vincent joined Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. at an early age. He started out as the drummer at the church, but soon afterwards, his interest turned to the guitar. Vincent played wherever and whenever he was needed. He played for Morning Star, The Genesis and many other singing groups. Vincent worked for J.B. Hunt and other trucking companies for years.

Vincent was preceded in death by his father, the late James Myres, and a sister, Gladys Elicia Myres.

He leave to cherish his memories his mother, Mrs. Delores R. Myres; four sisters, Jacklyn Mandigo (Willie), Brenda Magee (Duane), Janell Porter and Jamie Myres; an uncle, Charles Robinson Sr. (Marie); an aunt, Doretha Robinson; one godsister, Danielle Keys (Justin); a special cousin, Lucille Carter; and a host of nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends from all walks of life.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a wake service to follow from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Varnado, with Elder Leslie Fields officiating. Interment will be held in Robinson Cemetery in Varnado.
