Sidney R. Carroll, age 69, passed away Jan. 10, 2015 at AMG Hospital in Bogalusa. He was a resident of Varnado and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Bean Carroll of Varnado; one daughter, Stacey O’Keefe of Denham Springs; one brother, Ed Carroll of Varnado; sisters, Mildred Hillhouse of Varnado, Nellie Ruth Gerald of Stateline, Geraldine Boone of Varnado and Brenda Ard of Shreveport; grandchildren, Kayla Alexander, Korey Alexander, Kelsey Alexander and Brandy O’Keefe; and great-grandchildren, Kaden Davidson, Aliyah Davidson and Gavin Powell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtis Carroll; a son, David Carroll; and a great-grandson, Garrit Powell.

Visitation was held in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial was in Sheridan Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Magic City Post No. 24 of the American Legion.
