Gloria Dell Freeman, born Sept. 18, 1945, passed away Jan. 7, 2015, at Lane Memorial Medical Center in Zachary, La., at the age of 69. She was a longtime resident of Bogalusa.

She is survived by a son, Robert Simmons (Melanie Crawford) of Bogalusa; a daughter, Jane Freeman of Franklinton; stepson and stepdaughter, Tommy and Torie Waldrip; two brothers, Donald and Keith Blanchard of Alabama; grandchildren, Bethany Dyson, Kevin Danos, Joseph Paul Simmons, Luteal Gloria Simmons, Daniel Lindsey Simmons, Josie Darlene Simmons, Daniel Carroll, Ashley Carroll, Danielle Freeman and William Hardin; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Pat and Luteal Jenkins Blanchard; her husband, Daniel Freeman; and a brother, Joseph Blanchard.

Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and resumed after 8 a.m. Saturday morning, Jan. 10, 2015, until service time at 2 p.m. The Rev. Walter Mixon officiated the services, with the interment following in the Spencer Cemetery.
