Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Sorrell Kennedy, 94, are Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at State Line Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Donnie Broom, Carl Provost Jr. and Jeffrey Conn officiating. Burial will follow in Seal Cemetery at State Line.

Mrs. Kennedy passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at her residence in Bogalusa. She was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Walthall County, Miss., to the late James Theodore and Lovie Ophelia Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Kennedy; daughters, Joan Crain Bray and Vicky Kennedy Corroa; grandchildren, Tyrona Lynn Knight, Khristy Solomon and Reid Kennedy Jr.; and brothers, Luther and Wilbur Sorrell.

Mrs. Kennedy was a member of State Line Missionary Baptist Church and a former Washington Parish school bus driver to Angie, Wesley Ray and Thomas.

Survivors include children, Hazel Crain (Larry) Lamkin of Sandy Hook, Miss., Linda Kennedy (Charles) Rimes of Bogalusa, Donna Kennedy (Charles D.) Freeman of Angie and Nelson Reid (Jan) Kennedy of Pine; son-in-law, Mike Corroa of State Line; sister Macel Sorrell Kennedy; a special niece, Pam Sorrell (Everett) Jones; 10 grandchildren, Kimby Rimes, Michelle Evans, Lynette Evans Provost, Randall Kennedy, Stacie Turnbow Glenn, Troy Bray, Ryan Freeman, Anthony Freeman, Nicole Freeman Boyd and Christopher Knight; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at State Line Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, from 9 a.m. until service time there at 11 a.m.
