Doris Hill

Doris Hill, age 83, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Jan. 4, 2015, at Northshore Specialty Hospital in Covington.
Doris was born Feb. 21, 1931. She was a member of Sweet Beulah Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. Doris worked at Washington St. Tammany Hospital for 25 years. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Doris is survived by eight daughters, Gilda (Berdis) Davis of Gahanna, Ohio, Shelia (James) Warner and Joelnette Collins, all of Bogalusa, Dollie H. Wilson of Houston and Lisa (Vernell) Jackson, Kyren (Donald) Ladner, Stacey Martin and Stephanie Roberts of Bogalusa; three sons, Dr. Rickey Hill of Jackson, Miss., Kirk (Renee) Hill of Oveido, Fla., and Kiley Martin of Baton Rouge; one brother, Ret. Sgt. Robert Hill of Bogalusa; 37 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special and dear friends Geraldine Bennett and Dorothy Rose; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by one daughter, Evelyn Adams; three sons, John Randall Hill, Kevin Boris Martin and one stillborn child; father, Roy Hill; mother, Virginia Blunt; and two brothers, Ollie and Melvin Hill.
The visitation will be Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. James Magee, pastor, officiating. The interment will be at Bogalusa Cemetery.
