Edna Mae Wheat

Edna Mae Wheat, a resident of Carriere, Miss., age 95, born on Sept. 2, 1919, in Henleyfield, Miss., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, in Covington.

She was a member of Pinetucky Baptist Church in Henleyfield.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy King of Covington; one grandson, Timmy (Candis) Thompson of Pearl River County, Miss.; five great-grandchildren, Timothy Wayne Thompson, Luke Stewart Thompson, Benjamin Jacob Thompson, Lily Thompson and Jude Lane Thompson; and one sister, Wilda Fae “Tot” Stuart of Bogalusa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Wheat; and her parents, Arvil Spiers and Oda Irene Burge Spiers.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m.

The funeral services will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Drew Dabbs officiating.

Interment will follow at Henleyleyfield Community Cemetery.
