Johnny DeWayne Penton, 47, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Our Lady of Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memories a wife, Roslyn Penton of Bogalusa; a mother, Doris Penton of Bogalusa; seven sons, Jerome Penton, Reginald Penton, Kevin Penton, Calvin Penton and Ijenee Penton, all of Lafayette, Anthony Spear of Bogalusa and Ja’Nathan Penton of Atlanta; Victoria Arrington of Bogalusa, whom he raised as a daughter; five brothers, David Penton of Lawrenceville, Ga., Master Chief Christopher Penton of Memphis, Tenn., Boris Penton of Liburn, Ga., Michael Penton of Stone Mountain, Ga., and John Wayne Penton of Bogalusa; two sisters, Kim Hammond Cook and Sharyl Burris, both of Bogalusa; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Hammond; grandmother, Alvina Dean; and grandfather, Dorris “Bubba” Dean.

The visitation will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2014, from 2 until 6 p.m., with the family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Bogalusa.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2014, at the Bogalusa Auditorium, with Pastor Herbert H. Rowe officiating. The interment will be held at Bogalusa Cemetery.
