Clarence Charles James Jr. was born to the late Estella Bolton and Clarence Charles James Sr. on Aug. 19, 1937, in Columbia, Miss. He passed away on Dec. 3, 2014, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.
Clarence moved to Louisiana at an early age. He was a builder and a sawmill worker, and he loved to work on cars. He loved his family.
He is survived by his children, Kendall (Edna) Moses of Bogalusa, Ray Charles (Edna) Oatis of Columbia, Miss., Mac Charles Oatis of Columbia, Michael Peters of Angie, Michael Smith of Bogalusa, Jessie Smith of Angie, Catherine Moses of Bogalusa and Shelia Smith of Bogalusa; sisters, Margaret Lewis of Columbia and Jewel Harvey and Hazel Johnson, both of Detroit; one brother, Hezzie Bolton of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two special friends, Geraldine Moses and L. C. Youngblood; family; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Estella Bolton; father, Clarence Charles James Sr.; a brother, Julius Bolton; and sisters Mary Batchlor and Mattie Abraham.
Visitation was held Saturday at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jessie Moses officiated. Interment followed in Moses Cemetery in Angie.
