Election season is over; time to get to work

The campaign speeches are over, the results are finalized, and the victory parties have taken place.

The election season ended Saturday night, which means it’s time for those voted into office to get ready to get to work and find the best ways to make things better for those they have been chosen to serve.

Congratulations to those who won. If you were an incumbent, welcome back. If this is your first time in office, welcome aboard. We look forward to the new ideas you will bring.

At this point, it doesn’t matter who you voted for or how you feel about the candidates who won the election. What does matter is that we all have a common goal, and that is finding ways to make this great community better.

It’s at this point that we have to support the elected officials and help them help us.

When the next election comes up, if you like the way they’ve done their job, vote for them again. If not, vote for change.

Once again, congratulations to the election winners and we look forward to seeing you deliver on those campaign promises.
