Tan Joseph “Tony” Dardar, 79, of Poplarville, Miss., died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at White Funeral Home, 315 U.S. Highway 11 South, Poplarville, on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Poplarville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Dardar was born July 26, 1935, in Terrebone Parish to Anthony Joseph and Lucy Creppel-Dardar. A longtime resident of Poplarville, he was a retired tugboat captain and a member of Whitesand Apostolic Church.

Family members include three children, Anthony Joseph (Lisa) Dardar of Lafayette, Joanne (Robert) Duncan of Bogalusa and Royannis (Bobby) Pullens of Poplarville; three siblings, Nita Pitrie of Marrero, La., Walton Dardar of Crown Point, La., and Adam Dardar; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Ybarzabal-Dardar; and one brother, Erison Dardar.
