Demons playing for chance at title tonight

The road to a championship is never an easy one.

It takes heart, dedication, talent and the ability to be the best team on the field week after week.

It’s tough to continually find ways to win, but so far, one of Washington Parish’s football teams has, and tonight they will look to take one more step toward the opportunity to play for the championship.

Tonight the third-seeded Franklinton Demons are competing in the Class 4A state semifinals on the road against second-seeded Neville.

A win and the Demons will get the opportunity to play in the historic Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the state championship.

Should they win, they will play at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 13.

Last week, the Demons won a thriller, 21-15, over Landry/Walker, with Renaz Wilson tallying the go-ahead touchdown with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter and then the Demons defense held.

Congratulations to Franklinton on making it this far and good luck tonight.

For those attending the game, we wish you nothing but safe travels, as you make the trip to go support Franklinton in its quest to make this special season extra special.
