Angelina County, Texas, sheriff’s deputies arrested a 57-year-old Huntington man after a 9-year-old girl made an outcry that she had sexually assaulted at least once within the past year.

George William Stogner, who is a native of Bogalusa, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on two first-degree felony charges of aggravated sexual assault. Collectively, his bail has been set at $100,000.

Sgt. Harold Rapsilver II, with the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, said the case is still under investigation by one of his detectives.

He said the initial outcry was made by one of the 9-year-old girl’s family members.

Rapsilver said the alleged victim was brought in to do a forensic interview at Harold’s House in Lufkin. Between the girl’s testimony to the interviewer and evidence that had been collected, the detective on the case had enough to request and obtain arrest warrants for Stogner.

Stogner is the nephew of former Bogalusa Mayor Louis Rawls and graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1975.
