WP Coalition on Human Services holds November meeting

Washington Parish Commission on Human Services held its November meeting at the ESM United Methodist Church.

Kay Kay Warner, social worker with Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, spoke about the services available to patients. According to Warner, the hospital’s mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to God’s people, especially those most in need. OLOAH is community oriented and wants to be of service to the citizens of Washington Parish.

In other business, the WPCHS collected monetary donations for the Washington Parish Head Start program. Canned goods were collected for the Bogalusa Food Bank.

Officers for 2015 will be elected at the next meeting. A membership drive will be conducted to recruit new members who are interested in improving Washington Parish.

Agency reports were given by individuals who were in attendance. The meeting was adjourned by President Charlotte Champagne.

The next scheduled meeting for WPCHS will be on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. at ESM United Methodist Church.
