The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office recently arrested two thieves who might qualify for inclusion in an episode of “World’s Dumbest Criminals.”

During a residential burglary in the parish, several items were stolen, including an iPad. Detective Damon Mitchell learned that the iPad had been used by the thieves because of pictures on the owner’s iCloud account that were not her or her family. The pictures obviously were uploaded to her iCloud account after the iPad was stolen. Antonio Dillon and Trinette Lee, who both reside at 30518 Old Columbia Road, were identified in the uploaded photographs obviously enjoying their new electronic gadget.

Investigators went to the residence and located the stolen iPad, along with Dillon and Lee.

Both were arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen property. Dillon was also charged with simple possession of marijuana and booked on an outstanding attachment. He was released on bond. Lee was also charged with a bench warrant for failure to appear and is being held with no bond.

“Congratulations to Detective Mitchell on a job well done,” Sheriff Randy Seal said. “The iCloud images were intended to be amusing, but the two thieves were not amused when they walked into the jail with handcuffs on their wrists. We are grateful to them for producing the evidence that led to their own quick arrests. It would be nice if more criminals were that cooperative.”
