When Small Business Saturday rolls around each year, count on McMillan’s Nursery & Gifts to be an eager participant.

McMillan’s Nursery & Gifts is located at 130-B Cumberland St. in Bogalusa. Co-owner Kim Lively said McMillan’s sees a lot of customer traffic during the promotion. Small Business Saturday is Nov. 29.

“We do Small Business Saturday every year, and it’s very successful for us,” Lively said. “The citizens of Bogalusa say they want to shop locally and tell us they’re thankful that we are a part of it. They’re thankful that we are here.”

Lively said customers will realize big savings on Saturday.

“Everything in the gift shop is 20 percent off for Small Business Saturday,” Lively said. “We offer free gift wrapping and we’ll have refreshments for our customers. It’s really a fun day all the way round. Personally, I think we have the best customers in town.”

Business hours for McMillan’s Nursery & Gifts are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Lively said customers can also find several deals around the store.

“We do sell clothing and jewelry. We have live and artificial trees,” Lively said. “We sell Christmas decorations and have poinsettias and Christmas cactus.”

Lively said the store has something in stock for the picky customer.

“For the hard to buy for people we have fruits and citrus trees,” Lively said. “They can plant them in the yard and then eat the fruit.”
