The Housing Authority of Washington Parish will open its Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list on Monday, Dec. 1, beginning at 9 a.m.

A total of 100 applications will be accepted at the Public Works Equipment Yard, which is located at 23052 Yacc Road, off Louisiana Highway 10. The facility is the former Substance Abuse Center. The building is located next to the Equipment Yard site on what is referred to as “the Bogalusa-Franklinton Highway.”

Once the allotted number of applications are received, the waiting list will be closed on the same day. Applications must have the following information, as applicable, for all family members in the household in order to be accepted:

• Copies of birth certificates or verification of live birth;

• Copies of Social Security cards;

• Copies of drivers’ licenses or state-issued ID for family members. Examples are check stubs, Social Security award letter, Supplemental Security Income award letter, SNAP benefit letter, Child Support documentation, pensions, TANF contributions, Kinship Care Assistance, unemployment benefits, foster or adoptive care;

• Each family member 18 years of age or older will be required to submit to a criminal background consent form;

Applications will only be considered complete and be accepted if they contain all required information. Copiers, fax machines, and telephones will not be available to make copies or receive any information. Applications will not be accepted after Dec. 1.
