Dannie Gaddy Sr.

Staff Sgt. Dannie Lee Gaddy Sr., age 82 and a resident of Franklinton, died at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at his residence.
He was a veteran of the Air Force having served during the Korean War. He loved animals especially cats and dogs. He was known for caring for the stray cats in the area.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie Jane Kennedy Gaddy of Franklinton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny Lee Gaddy Jr. and Becky of Stonewall, La., and James Gaddy of Franklinton; daughter, Landa Gaddy of Covington; grandchildren, Summer Broadway, Sara and Jordan Stroud and Garrette Jewell; a great-grandchild, Gatlin Amos Dice; a special niece, Lisa King of Franklinton; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray Gaddy and Helen of Picayune; a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary Boatwright and Olen of Helena, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Helen Gaddy of Copper, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene LaLonde and Robert Gaddy; a granddaughter, Jessica Welton; and a brother, Douglas Gaddy.
Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Bible Baptist Church, with a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Bible Baptist Church of Thomas Cemetery. The pallbearers are Robert Turner Kendrick, Luke Thomas, Garrette Jewell, Danny Ray Gaddy, Chris Gaddy and Scott Gaddy.
