Community agencies were well represented at last Friday’s Central Elementary School Health Fair during Drug Awareness Week.
Central Elementary School nurse Lisa Murray and Central physical education instructor Tresa Perry organized the Health Fair.
Area organizations attending the Health Fair held in the school gymnasium included ADAPT, Bogalusa Heart Study, Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, Pinewood Theraputic Counseling Clinic, Bogalusa Police Department, Bogalusa Child Nutrition and the LSU AgCenter. Twenty-seven nurses from Northshore Technical Community College were also present.
One of the more popular exhibits on display was a germ cave. Students entered a tent and observed through a black light how germs can live on various services.
Along with all the display tables, a person in a cigarette costume was there to signify the dangers of cigarette smoking.
