Mr. Walter Armell Fox Jr. departed this life on Sept. 23, 2014, at the Jo Ellen Smith Living Center in New Orleans after a gradual decline in health.

Walter was born on Oct. 22, 1939, in Bogalusa to Walter Fox Sr. and Charlotte Richardson.

He attended Central High School in Bogalusa.

Mr. Walter Armell Fox Jr. later married Addrine Thomas Fox in 1956 in Bogalusa, and to their union three children were born.

He later joined the First Assembly of God Church in Waveland, Miss., under the leadership of the Rev. Joseph Banashak.

He was the second born out of eight children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Fox Sr.; mother, Charlotte Richardson Fox Conley; stepfather, Elder Henry Conley; his sister, Mary Louise Fox Bruns; and three brothers, James Earl, Knefus and John Henry Conley.

He leaves to cherish his memories his six children, Charlotte (Victor) Robinson of Bogalusa, Sharon Fox of Marrero, Mary “Jeanette”(Ronald Sr.) Sims of Bogalusa, Jacqueline Fox of Fort Drum, N.Y., Celia Fox of Houston and Walter A. Fox III of Merced, Calif.; a sister, Lucille Bland of New Orleans; two brothers, Ernest (Central) Fox of Bogalusa and the Rev. Col. Joe (Jacqueline) Conley of Mansfield, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a family hour to follow from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Bogalusa. The funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Col. Joe Conley officiating.
