William “Bill” Woodward, age 86 and a resident of Bogalusa, was born on June 2, 1928, in Bogalusa, and died on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

Woodward was a longtime columnist for The Daily News.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Jean Davis Woodward; his son, William Woodward Jr.; and his parents, George Ambrose Woodward and Minnie Stallings Woodward.

He is survived by one daughter, Diana Gayle Teel of Panama City, Fla., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Clay Norwood officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
