Walter Arnell Fox Jr., age 74 and a resident of Bogalusa, departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at Jo Ellen Smith Convalescent Center in New Orleans.

Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, followed by a family hour from 6 to 8 p.m. Services are 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Joe Conley officiating. Interment will be in Bogalusa Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Walter A. Fox III of Merced, Calif; five daughters, Charlotte (Rev. Victor) Robinson of Bogalusa, Sharon Fox of New Orleans, Mary Jeanette (Ronald) Sims Sr. of Bogalusa, Jacqueline Fox of Dexter, N.Y., and Celia Fox of Houston; two brothers, Ernest (Central) Fox of Bogalusa and the Rev. Joe E. (Jackie) Conley of Mansfield, Ohio; a sister, Lucille (Arcel) Bland of New Orleans; stepfather, Henry Conley of Bogalusa; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by father, Walter Amel Fox Sr.; mother, Charlotte Richardson Fox Conley; ex-wife, Addrine T. Fox; stepfather, Elder Henry Conley; a sister, Mary Louise Fox Bruns; and three brothers, Earl Fox, Knefus Conley and John Henry Conley.
