Rochelle DeLisa Howard Weary, age 48 and a resident of Virginia Beach, Va., and a former resident of Bogalusa, passed away, Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.
Rochelle DeLisa Howard was born Sept. 21, 1965, to Wallace Howard and the late Joel Antoinette Oatis Howard. She was raised by two loving grandparents, who preceded her in death, Lucille Nelson Oatis and John “Duke” Oatis.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Abria Dior Weary; two sons, Wayne Levell and Jevan Weary; her father, Wallace Howard of Lake Charles; her sister, Dee Howard of Woodstock, Ga.; an aunt who was considered her second mom, Regena Oatis; an uncle, John “Chip” Oatis; very special cousins, Marc, Lil Marc and Natasha Oatis, all of Bogalusa; a godmother, Katherine Stokes of Lynwood; other family members who added great value, including three aunts, Carrie Oatis of Angie, Sylvia Walker of Bogalusa and Carol Harry Ratliff of New Orleans; two uncles, Jimmy Nelson of Monroe and Mike Ward of Savannah, Ga.;, CA; a godbrother who preceded her in death, Larry G. Dillon; a cousin, Penny Ward of Denham Springs; stepmother Barbara Lacour of Lake Charles; a host of siblings, including, Carmen “Denece” Mark of Bogalusa and Lance and Lacy Howard of Lake Charles; and a host of special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Bogalusa High School Auditorium, with Elder Christopher Matthews officiating.
