Perry I. Seal

Perry Ison Seal, age 88 and a resident of Varnado, was born on Sept. 24, 1925, in Varnado and died on Sept. 23, 2014, at Collins State Veterans Home in Collins, Miss.

He was a WWII veteran and served in the United State Navy. He was a member of the Magic City American Legion Post No. 24. He was a member of Forest Haven Baptist Church. He was a fireman in Baton Rouge. He retired from the paper mill after 45 years. He was a beef cattle farmer and farmed until 84.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marie Seal; his parents, Louis Seal and Pollyann Williams Seal; two sisters, Mattie Lee Easterling and Norma Plaunche; and a brother, Milton Seal.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Gail Seal (William) of Franklinton, Janice (David) Douglas of Brookhaven, Miss., and Laurene Case of Sandy Hook, Miss.; three brothers, Hilton Seal, Leon Seal and Silmon Seal, all of Varnado; five grandchildren, Christopher Seal, Sabrina Seal, Grant (Jessica) Douglas, Dane Bourne and Hunter Case; one great-grandchild, Nicholas Seal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Forest Haven Baptist Church on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., with Elder Richard Magee, Elder Clyde Cooper and Elder Yancy Magee officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Haven Baptist Church Cemetery, with military graveside services by Magic City American Legion Post No. 24.
