Mae Ola Davis

MaeOla Walker Davis passed peacefully from this life the night of Sept. 24 after a gradual decline in health. Until the Lord called her home, she was still fighting to the end, yet was tired and finally said well done.

MaeOla is survived by seven children, Luke Davis Jr. (Irma) of Hammond; Brenda D. Booth (Robert) of Midway, Ga., Gary Davis, Betty D. Williams (Bryan), Alton Davis, and Randy W. Davis of Sun; and one granddaughter who was raised as a daughter, Latanya N. Arnold (Raymond) of Slidell; one sister, Mary J. Coleman of Buckhead, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Walker of Detroit and Burnette Walker of Milwaukee; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in her death by Luke Davis Sr. (husband), Shirley Mae Davis (daughter), Veola Mark, Ruby Johnson, Alma Lillie Selmon, Lenora Bridges, Bertha Lee Allen and Ethel Mae Pierson (sisters) and Lander Walker, Janola Walker, Samuel Walker, Lee Eddie Walker, J.E. Jones and Sidney Jones (brothers).

Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, 809 E. Third St., Bogalusa.

Funeral Services will be Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa, with the Rev. Lovell McCray as officiating pastor.
