Tyrone Pounds

Tyrone Cozell Pounds, 67, of Harpers Ferry, W.V., passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at his residence.

Born April 6, 1947, in Bogalusa, he was the son of the late Randall Pounds and Jacqueline Jones Pounds of Bogalusa.

Tyrone was retired law enforcement from U.S. Customs Service-Customs and Border Protection.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Kelly, at home; one daughter, Traci Thomas and husband David of Poplarville, Miss.; three sons, Kevin Pounds of Bogalusa, Dennis Pounds and wife Jana of Bogalusa and Elmer Johnson Jr. and wife Chelsea of Waldorf, Md.; one brother, Clifford Pounds; two sisters, Faye and Kay Pounds; and six grandchildren, Kayla, Mason, Abram, Rebecca, Jeffrey and Kristin.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, W.V., with Dr. Henry Christie officiating. Interment was in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, W.V.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
