Frederick Nickolaus

On Aug. 23, 2014, God called Frederick A. Nickolaus Jr. home. He was 71. He was retired as chief engineer of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans after working there for more than 30 years and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 24 in Bogalusa. He was member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, Council 1819, in Bogalusa. He was a member and past Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus 4thDegree, Assembly 2206, in Bogalusa. He resided in Bogalusa and was a native of Harahan.

He was the son of the late Frederick Nickolaus and Althea Savarese Nickolaus, husband of the late Madonna Aultman Nickolaus, beloved father of Carolyn Althea Nickolaus and brother of the late Edward “Eddie” Nickolaus Sr., Teddy Nickolaus and Ned Nickolaus (Ruth “Roxanne”). He was the son-in-law of Roy Aultman and Dorothy Forrester Aultman. He was the brother-in-law of Shelly Rivere Nickolaus, Darlene Becker Nickolaus, Cheryl Aultman Roper (Justin), Cynthia “Cindy” Aultman Logan (Bruce) and Kenning “Kenny”Aultman, special uncle of Stacy Nickolaus (Carrie), uncle and godfather of Christine Nickolaus Buezo (Jose’), uncle of Edward “Bubba” Nickolaus Jr. (Esther), Dianna Nickolaus, Jennifer Roper Dowden, Sean Logan, Allison Logan, Kaitlyn Aultman, Kourtney Aultman, Krystle Blanchard Lassare (Scott) and the late Kevin Aultman, godfather of Kimberly Freeman and paw paw of Cocoa, Jingles and Venus Nickolaus. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 517 Avenue B, Bogalusa. Visitation at the church will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. Metairie.
