Ruby Nell Burkhalter, age 52 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at Northshore Specialty Hospital in Covington.

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Tiffany Burkhalter, Velicity Burkhalter and Jessica Burkhalter, all of Franklinton; one sister, Picola McClain of Franklinton; two brothers, Reuben (Melanie) Watts of Bogalusa and Tony Prewitt of California; three stepbrothers, Ernest Youngblood, Eric Youngblood and Tracy Youngblood, all of Mansfield, La.; a sister-in-law, Paula Burkhalter; five grandchildren, Nickolaus Burkhalter, Orlando Burkhalter, Jaycob Burkhalter, Jayden Burkhalter and Kylei Jefferson; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Watts Jr. and Betty Burton; stepfather Johnny Ray Burton; and two brothers, Paul Burkhalter and Orlandus Burkhalter.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.
