Stella Mae Sharp Sutherland, 90 years old and a resident of Ponchatoula, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014. Stella was born on July 19, 1924, in Clio, La.

Her surviving children are Scarlet Ford, Nolan Sutherland (Cindy), Penny Norsworthy (Ellis), Pamela Mooney (Roy) and Wendy Hurlburt. She also had two surviving sisters, Eula Hutchinson and Naomi Burton, and two brothers, Huey and Eugene Sharp. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Stella Louis Kemp Sharp, one sister, Salli Bourque, one brother, Edward (Bud) Sharp, and two sons Barry and Terry Sutherland.

Family and friends are invited to attend services on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harry McNeely and Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home chapel in Ponchatoula on Saturday at 4 p.m
