Deacon Brock

Deacon Earl Brock transitioned to a better home, and he answered the Lord’s call on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at his home.

He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted and loving wife, Sis. Gwen Brock of Franklinton; two daughters, Shadrika (Marco) Thompson and Drishoka (Chris) Harper, both of Covington; one granddaughter who he raised as a daughter, Kenyatta Brock of Franklinton; four grandchildren, William Thomas, Devin Baker, Asijah Thompson and Chris Harper Jr., all of Covington; his mother, Rosa Dean Brock of Franklinton; three sisters, Gloria (Willis) Lewis and Larita Brock, both of Lafayette, and Johnnie Stein Brock of Franklinton; two brothers, the Rev. Ray (Cindy) Brock of Moss Point, Miss., and Edward Brock of Baltimore; other sisters and brothers, Willie Mae Holloway of Hammond, Phyllis (the Rev. Flynn) Brumfield of Tangipahoa, Ricky (Connie) Holloway of Navason, Texas, the Rev. Russell (Tracy) Holloway of Amite, Bobby (Clanthia) Holloway of Kentwood and others; and godchildren, Oliver “Man” Warren, O’Neal Warren, Jerome Warren, Bridget Andrews, Domikique Warren, Jessica Norman, Shamekia Louis and Teiesha “Icy” Dillon.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Holloway.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, from 2 until 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home chapel in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Sweet Rest Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Mallery Callahan, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at Sweet Rest Cemetery. Sign the online guestbook at www.crainandsons.com.
