Ruth Washington Allen, 91, a former resident of Bogalusa, passed away Aug. 1, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Detroit.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at Cantrell Chapel in Detroit.

She is survived by six children, Berneda Earle of Detroit, Doris Sherrors of Detroit, Harrison Allen Jr. of McComb, Miss., Pat Ducre of Slidell, Emelda Washington of Kansas City, Mo., and Darlene Bickham of Orlando, Fla., 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a sister, Elnora Dubbs of Bogalusa, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
