Christopher Lewis

Christopher Hunter Lewis, aged 53, died Aug. 5, 2014, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

He served as Justice Court Judge of the 5th Ward of Washington Parish. Chris was an active member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Bogalusa and served as senior warden of the church vestry. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Polled Hereford Association. He served the community in many ways as a participant in numerous organizations, both civic and social. Chris and his wife Kay have, for many years, owned and run Lewis Insurance of Angie.

He is survived by his wife, Kay, two daughters, Christal Lewis and Brittany (Dan) Penton, one son, Stephen Lewis, and three grandchildren, Colt and Anna Kay and Emmett Penton, all of Angie.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Bert and Thelma Lewis.

He is survived by three siblings, Jeff (Kim) Lewis Sr. of Franklinton and Mike Lewis and Stephanie Lewis, both of St. Francisville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 3 p.m., all at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, with Father Chad Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Sandy Hook Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s name to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 208 Georgia Ave., Bogalusa, LA 70427.
