A long-time Bogalusa physician had his office on 1011 Ave. F go up in flames on Sunday.

Bogalusa Fire Chief Richard Moody said he expected the offices of Dr. Purnachandra Yerneni to be a total loss. Yerneni practices internal medicine.

“It looked like the fire started up in the attic. He was using the attic for storage,” Moody said.

Moody said the department got the call of the fire at 4:34 a.m. on Aug. 3, and the first units arrived four minutes later.

Moody said the roof collapsed and there was a lot of water damage from battling the flames. No injuries were reported.
