A Mississippi man was shot early Saturday morning in Bogalusa near the former Superior Avenue School and was transported by ambulance to Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
Bogalusa Police Chief Joe Culpepper reported Richard Jordan, from Raymond, Miss., was confronted by three black males and shot in the abdomen with what was apparently a .45-caliber pistol. Culpepper said no bullet was found, but a .45-caliber shell casing was discovered.
Culpepper said Jordan, whom he said is in his 30s, was shot “through and through.”
“We got the call about 1 a.m. Saturday. I don’t know the connection (Jordan) has to the area, but he was stable at the hospital,” Culpepper said. “He couldn’t talk Friday.”
Culpepper said the department learned of the shooting from a 911 call. He said there were no suspects in the case as of Thursday afternoon and that it has been turned over to the department’s Detectives Division.
Culpepper said citizens who wish to report any information about the shooting may call the Detectives Division at 732-6238 or 732-BUST.
