Franklinton Police Dept. searching for shooter

The Franklinton Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls regarding a shooting in the 500 block of 15th Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, July 29, at 3:42 p.m.

Officers in the area attempted to locate the suspect vehicle but could not. The victim in the shooting drove himself to the Franklinton Police Department where he provided a statement regarding the incident.

Specifically, the victim advised he was approached by a subject identified as Frank Anderson, who requested to speak with him. Both parties drove to the 500 block of 15th Avenue. According to the victim, Anderson approached his vehicle and fired one shot through the driver’s side rear window. The bullet narrowly missed the victim, subsequently striking the front windshield. The suspect returned to his vehicle and fled the scene. Reports indicated that two small children were inside Anderson’s vehicle at the time of the incident.

The victim stated that he and Anderson have a mutual female companion, thus the suspected reason for the incident. The Franklinton Police Department sought and received an attempted first-degree murder warrant for Anderson, whose last known address is 82 Fortenberry Road, Tylertown, Miss. Authorities in Mississippi have been contacted and advised of the outstanding warrant.
