Roy R. Duncan, Sr., 74, of Poplarville (Crossroads), Miss., died Monday, July 21, 2014, at his residence.
Services were at 4 p.m., Thursday, July 24, at White Funeral Home, 315 U.S. Highway 11 South, Poplarville, preceded by visitation from 4 to 10 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Duncan was retired from Poplarville Lower Elementary, was a farmer and also worked at Travis’ Grocery Store in Bogalusa.
Family members include his wife, Mae Aldridge Duncan; children, Roy R. (Robin) Duncan, Jr. of Pine and Susan Seal of Poplarville (Crossroads); loving sister, Mildred “Midge” Mitchell of Picayune, Miss.; grandchildren, Kevin Duncan, Hackley Magee, Courtney Magee, Alisha Duncan, Jordan Duncan, Candace (William) Smith, Brandy Jones, Kaylea Duncan, Callie Duncan and Cameron Seal; great-grandchildren, Brianna Smith, Gracie Smith, Blake Smith and Ellie Jones; stepdaughters, Lisa (Kenny) McBeth of Carriere, Miss. and Kay (Eddie) Peterson of Poplarville (Crossroads); sisters-in-law, Alice Terrell of Pine, Annette Batson of Bogalusa, Doris Crain of Franklinton, Elizabeth Aldridge of Pensacola, Fla. and Geraldine (Junior) Seal of Poplarville (Crossroads); brothers-in-law, Johnny (Peggy) Crain of Bogalusa, Lester (Tillie) Crain of Mandeville, Lee (Linda) Aldridge of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Wayne (Jean) Aldridge of Calhoun, Ga.; son-in-law, Kenny Jones of Picayune; special friends, Hubert Matthews of Picayune, Archie Sullivan of Poplarville and Travis Thomas of Picayune; and a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Roderick and Daisy Wheat Duncan; his first wife, Linda Nell Crain Duncan; one daughter, Beth Ann Duncan Jones; and one stepson, Robin Sellers.
