Devoted wife, mother and caregiver, Kathie Ann Haarala, age 59, passed away July 6, 2014, in her home in Smyrna, Tenn. She was a former longtime resident of Bogalusa. Kathie was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and worked as an LPN with Creekside Assisted Living in Tennessee.

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dolores Koons Jennette.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Haarala; daughters, Heather (Michael) Purvis and Stephanie Haarala; brothers, James Jennette and Timothy Jennette; sisters, Susan Reck and Jewelie Bruestle; and one granddaughter, Mika Purvis.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, July 11, 2014, 10 a.m. until time of chapel service at 1 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home. Father Jacob Dio will officiate.
