Boonnark K. Williams

Boonnark K. Williams, A long-time resident of Bogalusa and retired entrepreneur, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, in Walker, La., after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was 66 years of age.

A memorial service will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, located at 601 Avenue F in Bogalusa, on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Visitation will convene at 3 p.m., with the memorial service to begin at 4 p.m. Brother Marcus Rosa of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church will preside over the service.

Ms. Williams is survived by her children: Michelle Eckert (husband John) of White Hall, Ark.; Rubby Douglas (husband Billy and granddaughter Catherine) of Walker; Mack Williams of Walker; and Frances Berthelot (husband Andrew) of Baton Rouge; as well as many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Poun and Jhan Kumkoon of Thailand.

Ms. Williams was a member of Palestine Baptist Church and was known best for her cooking and gardening. Her family extends its heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all the staff of Jefferson Regional Medical Center, the Arkansas Cancer Institute and New Century (formerly known as Generations) Hospice. In lieu of flowers, Ms. Williams’ wish was donations be made to Palestine Baptist Church, located at 59369 Palestine Church Road, Bogalusa, LA 70427.
