Joseph Hampton Harry, age 76, of Jefferson Parish departed this life on Sunday, June 23, 2014, at Cannon Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Zion Travelers First Baptist Church, 406 Adams St., New Orleans, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Harry Cemetery in Angie.

A repast will be held at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado. Services are entrusted to Dennis Funeral Home, 1812 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans.

He is survived by his children, the Rev. Elvin Harry (Shevette) and Juanita Harry; his stepdaughter, Naima White; his sisters, Estelle Montgomery, Audrey Buchanan and Armetha Simms (Charles); his brother-in-law, James Johnson (Barbara); his sisters-in-law, Carol Johnson (Ernest) and Christine H. Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and members of Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church and Zion Travelers First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette Harry; his father, William “Willie” Harry; his mother, Frances H. Thrower; his brother, Mason Harry; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Montgomery.
