Martin L. Gray Jr., age 74 and a resident of Bogalusa, passed away, Tuesday, June 17, 2014. at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton.
He retired from the United States Army after 28 years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Dolores Gray; one son, Elder Martin L. Gray III of Bogalusa; three daughters, Judith Gray and Tracy Gray Bickham, both of Bogalusa, and Paula Gray of LaCanada, Calif.; five grandchildren, David Bickham Jr., Kristi Bickham, Donel Magee, Cherie’ Magee and Bryan Gray; two great-grandchildren, Jermarcus Bickham and Kiya Bickham; four siblings, Harriet Gray Henry of Mt. Morris, Mich., Joseph (Virgie) Gray of Tunica, Miss., Cynthia Gray (Jim) Scales of DeSoto, Texas, and Harry Gray of Parkville, Mo.; three brothers-in-law, Bishop Howard (Mary) Quillen Jr., Elder Donald Quillen and Supt. Jerome (Myrtis) Quillen; one sister-in-law, Donna Quillen Alexander; and a host of nieces , nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Charles and Pearl Hicks and Joseph and Laura Gray.
Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.
The funeral service will be Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at First Church of God in Christ with Bishop Howard Quillen officiating and Elder Martin L. Gray III as eulogist. Sign the online guestbook at www.crainandsons.com.
