Bobbie Hymel Jenkins

Bobbie Hymel Jenkins, age 86, was born on Oct. 15, 1927, in Pearl City, Miss., and passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at her residence in Bogalusa.

She was a member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Buddy) Ruddick of Baton Rouge and Connie (Gerald) Little of Bogalusa; a son, Calvin (Brenda) Hymel of Bogalusa; seven grandchildren, Kristy (Michael) Ballou of Boston, Wendy (Shelby) Bankston of Michigan, Brad (Dondi) Ruddick of Baton Rouge, Heidi (Jason) Thomas of Thomas, Jennifer (Gary) Bouffard of Hammond, April (Jay) Bell of Bogalusa and Derek (Kristy) Little of Baton Rouge; nine great-grandchildren, Evan, Lauren and Jacob Ballou of Boston, Colby (Melanie) Bankston of Norco, Madison Bell of Bogalusa, D.J. and Devin Thomas of Thomas and Halie and Julia Bouffard of Hammond; and one great-great-grandchild, Paisley Bankston of Norco; one sister, Patricia (Don) Duncan of Tom Nolan, Miss.; one brother, Ralph (Pat) Harris of Angie; and sister-in-law, Barbara (J.C.) Adams of Bogalusa.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Hymel; her second husband, Fenon Jenkins; one son, Walter Hymel, Jr.; her parents, Lamar Braud Harris and Beulah Miley; two brothers, Paul Harris and Alan Ray Harris; and one niece, Karen Cancienne.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m., with Bro. Lynn Martin, Bro. Caleb Martin and Bro. Jim Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Seal Cemetery in Varnado.

Active pallbearers will be Brad Ruddick, Derek Little, Jason Thomas, Gary Bouffard, Jay Bell and Colby Bankston. Honorary pallbearers will be D.J. Thomas, Devin Thomas, Charlie Harris, Timmy Harris, DeWayne Harris, Little Don Duncan and Eddie Cutrer.
